Your Sizzle Video

I have had a couple of requests for a copy of my Sizzle, so I thought I would add it as a bonus post, and I hope that it helps.

I use it as an intro at the start of keynotes, I also use it in some outbound marketing. It has not however performed well on paid ads; this is because of its generic nature – eye catching, but no call to action is the issue for ads – plus slightly long.

If you are not sure what I am banging on about (I have that effect sometimes!) – Sizzle reels – also known as demo reels, show reels, media highlight reels, public relations videos, electronic press kit videos, promo videos, or teasers – are short 1 to 3 minute videos that combine visuals, audio and messaging to create a fast-paced, stylised overview of a product, service, entrepreneur, initiative or brand.

These short videos can become a crucial part of any business’s communications process and help convey key messages to consumers, clients and other target audiences.

Quick note – While sizzle reels are a great way to get the word out about your business, poorly crafted sizzles can just as easily blow through your budget and completely turn prospects off your brand.

The last thing you want to do is spend countless hours and hard-earned cash, just to make a web video that will get 15 views on YouTube or a video that’s no better than a PowerPoint presentation.

Before you jump into the getting your own one done, my recommendation is to:

#1. Know your audience – Film it to make them excited, not just for your ego – this was the hardest one for me!!!

#2. Do it well – sometimes spending hours ‘having a go’ will end with a compromised result, think about getting a pro in to make it awesome.

#3. It may not be the right time – getting quality video clips to make your sizzle is vital, think what you have and if its not enough wait until you have some speaking gigs, then set up your own cameras and grab that vital footage.

#4. Know why you want it – is it for your keynote walk-on or is it for sales pitches, know when you will use it will help you to tweak and edit in the appropriate way.

BONUS TIP – own it! This is a big puff of hot air the very next thing you do after you show a prospect your new sizzle is vital, don’t downplay it, use it as a launch pad into your presentation or keynote. – remember your awesome as you now have a sizzle: 😉#Winning
